📝 Assessment Options

For this Project, you can assess student work by:

  • Asking them to connect card actions with coding concepts (ex: what does a Loop Card ask you to do? Repeat an action. Why is this useful? What are some examples of looping behavior? GIFs, escalators, rotating wheels etc…
  • Directing students to read played cards aloud to help them identify, associate, and remember key terms. Listen for coding terms, group collaboration and discussion during gameplay.
  • Challenge students to create lists of new cards that belong their categories to reinforce learning topics. For example, what is a .doc (document)? It’s a word processor. What kinds of thing can you do with that? Type, edit, spellcheck, copy/paste etc… What new card could you make that includes these guidelines?
