The first part of the word "aero" comes from the Ancient Greek word for air. The second part, "dynamics," comes from the Ancient Greek word for power. When you put these two things together, you get the term "air power," which is pretty close to what it means.

Aerodynamics is the study of moving air and how it moves around solid things. Basically, it is the study of how the movement of air can make lift!
