πŸ‘©β€πŸ’» Introduction to DroneBlocks!

What is DroneBlocks?

DroneBlocks is a piece of software that lets you program your drone to fly! This means that once you send your drone on a mission, it will be able to fly on its own.

Exploring the Interface!

When you open DroneBlocks, you will see a window that looks something like the one below:

You will drag your code into the large white space, which will be your workspace. The colored blocks on the side are your toolbox. They hold all the different blocks you will need to write code.

Once you have written your code, you will then need to turn on your drone and connect to it's WiFi network on your device. This will allow you to send your code to the drone! You will know you are connected when the WiFi icon in Droneblocks has turned green!

After you have double checked your code and the flight area, you can press launch to see your creation come to life!

Creating a Mission!

You can write your code now that you are connected and know how to use DroneBlocks. We suggest that you turn off your drone and create your code before you try to connect to it. This will save your battery.

All you have to do to start coding is drag blocks into the workspace. The takeoff and landing blocks, which you can see below, are the most important parts of any mission.

For a successful flight, you must have the takeoff block at the beginning of your mission and the land block at the end.

You will use many more blocks, but these two are the most important ones for making missions that work.

We can start making missions now that you know how to use the interface!
