👩🏽💻 Step 1.5: Downloading PuTTY (Windows 8 or below only)
If you are using a version of Windows older than Windows 10, or if the upcoming SSH steps won’t work with the username@hostname.local methods, you may need to download some software called PuTTY. If you are on a Mac or Chromebook you don’t need this step and you can skip this page.
Go to this link to download PuTTY.
Select the installer as seen in the image below.
Follow installation instructions for your device.
