We are now going to install theΒ servo software that will enable our car to move the steering bar. Servos are automatic devices that use error-sensing negative feedback to correct the action of a mechanism. They will act as our motors.

  • Turn on car, make sure batteries are fully charged
  • Make sure your computer is on the same WiFi as your robot car
  • SSH into car
  • Gently pop out servo so it’s unattached to the rocker arm
  • pi (for username)
  • raspberry (for password)
  • cd robotcar
  • picar
  • picar servo-install
  • Reinsert servo into chassis and reattach rocker arm
  • CTRL + Z to exit program
  • picar servo-install
  • Observe steering bar moving the car wheels
