πŸ–ΌοΈ Finding Images for Your Game

Finding Assets

Because this is our first visual game, we need to start finding the components we want to use. Making a cookie clicker means we need to find a picture of a cookie to be clicked! The easiest way to do this is to go toΒ www.images.google.comΒ and search for whatever picture you need. Once you have searched for the picture you need it is important that we narrow down which pictures are usable and will look best. To do this we will use the built-in search tools on the site like so:

Google-Fu

Go to Google and type in a character.

Β Click Images.

Click Tools.

Select the Size menu and click Large. This will give us images with good resolution when we scale down.

Select the Color menu and click Transparent. This will show you all the images without a background – perfect for game sprites!

Click on the image you want to use.

A pop up will show you a checkered background behind the character. This means it should have a transparent (clear) background!

Right click the image and select Save image as… You can rename your image to anything easy to remember when coding your game.

If for some reason you cannot find an image that fits your needs you may bump down the size or turn off the color section. If you do find an image with a background, you can go toΒ www.remove.bgΒ and upload your image to remove it.

Following these steps will allow you to make professional-looking games!
