What is Computer Science?

As the foundation for all computing, computer science is defined as “the study of computers and algorithmic processes, including their principles, their hardware and software designs, their implementation, and their impact on society.”

Some common things computer scientists must know how to do:

• Asking questions
• Asking the right questions
• Answering the questions like a computer (with algorithms!)

How will we use computer science for animation?

At first, it may seem confusing as to how we’ll use computer science to create animations. That’s okay! Throughout this course, you’ll learn a lot about how animation works and how we can use computer science to make sprites move and react to our actions.
