Additional Equipment for Mac Users
If you are using a Mac computer, you will need a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

It will be helpful to know what all your Betabox components are called so that you have a shared language to communicate and collaborate. Many industries have different names for the same things, called jargon, that are specific to their fields.  Think about it like work nicknames for your materials. You may want to open this page in a new tab to reference as you work through the assembly process.

Let’s get started! Unpack the components in your kit and take a moment to learn what each piece is called.

Components List

A1 – Upper Plate

A2 – Pan-and-tilt Plate

A3 – Camera Mount Plate

A4 – Front Half Plate

A5 and A6 – Steering Connector Plates

A7 – Steering Linkage Plate

A8 – Ultrasonic Module Plate


Now, check out the servo accessories baggie. You should have three sets of these.

The mechanical fastener baggies will contain a variety of screws, nuts, washers, and standoffs in different shapes and sizes. Take a moment to look and organize them.

Check out the wire pack and familiarize yourself with them. You may have extra wires in your kit.

Other Components 

The yellow motors are going to be able to drive your car forwards and backwards and the servo is used for steering left and right!

You will have a set of wheels, a camera, and a ribbon in your pack.You will want to find a pair of scissors to cut the ribbon when we get to that step.

You’re also provided with a set of tools. The wrenches will be used to secure the nuts.
